Since 2000, the Rencontres des Jeunes Chercheuses et Jeunes Chercheurs (RJC) in Human Computer Interaction have been aimed at training future professional HCI researchers. You can have a look at the previous editions.

For the first time, the RJC will be a Franco-Italian event opened to both french-speaking and italian-speaking young researchers thanks to common efforts from AFIHM and SIGCHI ITALY. The event will be held in English

The 2019 edition themes will cover:

  • Presentations of the participants' ongoing research with short talks and posters
  • Team hands-on workshop on Eco-Feedback
  • Practical tools for HCI research (sketching, conducting experiments)
  • Overview of the French and Italian-speaking HCI community
  • Perspectives and carreers opportunities in HCI
Important Dates

Practical Information

Ph.D and Master students working in the field of HCI from French-speaking countries and Italy are welcome to participate in this first international edition of the Rencontres des Jeunes Chercheuses et Jeunes Chercheurs (RJC) in Human Computer Interaction.

Location

The RJC 2019 will take place at Montaigut-sur-Save, France near Toulouse from the 1st of July until the 4th. The participants will be hosted in Le Ratelier, a nice Hotel and restaurant in the Forest near Toulouse.

Price

The registration is set to 230 euros per participant. The fees include housing, lunches, breaks and activities during the whole event. Transportation from the airport Monday and Thursday is also included.

Registration

Participants need to apply by sending an abstract of their research in the field of HCI to Jérémie Garcia (jeremie.garcia@enac.fr) before May 24th. The selection will be based on the following rules :
  • Applications will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
  • There are 26 places for AFIHM and SIGCHI ITALY students.
  • When all the places are given, additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list with a notifcation of acceptance sent not later than June 1st.
  • We might balance participants to cover several teams and Universities across participants.
